Show the Truth, a Canadian anti-abortion group, held a demonstration on Hastings Street North Friday.
OPP Constable Philipe Regamey says the OPP’s Provincial Liaison Team was on the scene from the start to ensure everything stayed peaceful. He says that multiple residents walked up to the demonstrators to talk to them about why they were there and the graphic imagery on their signage.
“Bancroft officers did receive a call because of the boards that were displayed,” Regamey explains. Once officers arrived on the scene just before 4 PM, the demonstration ended.
Regamey notes that the demonstration remained peaceful throughout and no arrests were made.
