Rockhounds Looking For Billet Families For Upcoming Season

The Bancroft Rockhounds are continuing to prepare for their inaugural season.

Marketing Director and Billet Coordinator with the team Debbie Scott tells My Bancroft Now that they are in need to billet families for the players to live with during the season.

She explains that the family would be paid $600 per player per month. Scott says that it’s up to the families to decide if they want to take on one player or multiple. “I still have to go out to the house and make sure it’s proper living conditions and it’s feasible for them to take in that number of kids,” she adds. “We want to make sure they have comfortable living conditions and that they will be well taken care of.”

She says that players cannot room with family members, but in the case of multiple players staying with one billet family, those two (or more) can room together.

Scott says players must have three meals a day be taken to the arena for practice and games. “Realistically they need to treat these kids are a part of the family,” she says. Scott adds that billet families will be given a package detailing the exact requirements they will have to follow along with what the player living with them will be responsible to do.

If you’re interested in being a billet family for a Rockhounds player, you can email Scott at [email protected] or call her at 416-948-9033.
