The Town’s current Treasurer Arthur Smith will be leaving his post in August, so a replacement is needed.
Smith started working with Bancroft in February 2017 when he was brought on as an interim treasurer.
“The role provides strategic advice to council and staff, executes the statutory duties of the Treasurer and is responsible for ensuring all legislative requirements and sound financial management principles are met by the municipality and local boards,” the Town of Bancroft says.
They say the ideal candidate has past experience as a Treasurer or Deputy Treasurer, has an understanding of relevant legislation, and has experience with annual operating and capital budgets.
