Input Needed For North Hastings Municipalities’ Joint Community Safety And Well-Being Plan

It was announced in June that the seven municipalities in North Hastings are teaming up to create a joint Community Safety and Well-being plan.

The provincial government has mandated that this needs to be finished by January 2021.

Since work on the plan has started, they have gotten information from representatives from 30 organizations in North Hastings on health and safety issues.

The next step is for residents in North Hastings to have their say with a survey that has now been released. “This is where we ask you about what is most important to your safety and well-being in North Hastings,” Tudor and Cashel Township say on Facebook. “It is based on our belief that the best plan will have the inputs and ideas of as many North Hastings residents as possible.”

Tudor and Cashel will also be teaming up with Limerick, Wollaston and Faraday Townships to host a public meeting to discuss the future plan. That will be held on August 13th from 6 PM to 8 at the Limerick Community Centre. You will also be asked to fill out a questionnaire. There will ve five main questions, along with 13 other multiple-choice questions and you and your background. ” We do this in order to be sure we are hearing from everyone and that the final plan addresses the most important issues for specific groups,” the Township says. They note it will all be anonymous and won’t take longer than 15 minutes.

A public meeting will also be held in Hastings Highlands on the 13th at 6 PM at Emond Hall in their municipal office in Maynooth. Bancroft will host one the next day at 7 PM at the Town municipal office. Carlow/Mayo will host a meeting on the 15th at the same time at the Carlow Community Centre.

The survey is also available online. You’re being asked to finish it by August 31st.
