Expect “Nice Weather” During The Long Weekend, Says Environment Canada

With the long weekend almost upon us, many residents are relishing the extra day off while others are looking to get to enjoy time at their cottages.

Environment Canada Meteorologist Gerald Cheng has good news for those people: expect “nice weather.” There may be rain Friday morning, but after that, he says the high pressure will hold for the rest of the weekend meaning the cool weather will stick around for those relaxing at their cottage or at home.

“There’s a taste of fall already,” Cheng says. For early risers and night owls, you may have already started to wear a light jacket when you’re out and about. Cheng says temperatures usually dip to 10 degrees around this time, with the day-time high averaging out to 23 degrees. He adds that’s we’re likely to stay in that range until fall hits. “I’m not seeing many signals of a heatwave over the next two weeks,” Cheng says.
