Inquest Launched Into Deaths of Three Women Killed by Basil Borutski

An inquest has been launched into the deaths of Anastasia Kuzyk, Nathalie Warmerdam, and Carol Culleton.

All three women were murdered by Basil Borutski in 2015 in the Madawaska Valley and Eganville.

Borutski is currently serving a life sentence with no chance of parole for 70 years for first and second-degree murder. Burotski spent time in prison twice before the murders and was accused of assault and uttering threats towards two of the victims.

The inquest will investigate the circumstances around the deaths of Kuzyk, Warmerdam and Culleton. The investigation will be headed up by Regional Supervising Coroner for Inquests Dr. David Cameron. A jury will make recommendations in the hopes of preventing further murders.

The date and location of the inquest has yet to be announced.
