Our MPP is running a youth drawing and writing contest leading up to First Responders Day on May 1. Elementary and high school students from around Hastings and Prince Edward County can enter. Grades one to three can enter a drawing. Grades four through six can submit a 200-word short story. Grades seven and eight can enter an essay up to 300 words and high school students can submit a 500-word essay. The topic is celebrating first responders and prizes of $50 Visa gift cards and iPads are up for grabs. The deadline to drop of entries at Todd Smith’s Belleville office or to email them in is April 24.
