North Hastings Community Cupboard will be on-hand at Saturday’s Rockhounds home game to collect food donations and collect some cash from the team.
Around $200 is made every week from the 50/50 draw and the Chuck-a-Puck and half of whatever is made this weekend will be pocketed by the foodbank. You can also bring non-perishable food to the game because they will have their food cupboard there for you to drop it off.
“This is for the community cupboard and other not-for-profits,” Marketing Director and Billet Coordinator Deb Scott says. She adds that they’ve already reached out to Vintage on Hastings, North Hastings Children’s Service and other local not-for-profits to take part. Scott says to expect to see not-for-profits setting up shop at Rockhounds home games for the rest of the season.
After a 7-4 win over the Northumberland Stars last weekend, the Rockhounds will Thursday and Friday in Quebec before coming home to play the South Muskoka Shield. They currently sit at 4-4-0-0 on the season, good for 5th in the North Division.
