Any female students interested or involved in school politics have a chance to get money for it.

The Federation of Canadian Municipalities announced multiple scholarships on Monday

The Canadian Women in Municipal Government Scholarship will award $1,000 each to female students across five regions of the country.

To be eligible and apply, the student has to be in high school and contribute to its leadership team or council. One student from B.C., the Prairies and Territories, Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic Canada will be chosen.

The other scholarship is for women in post-secondary school and is research-based. Two students will win The Mayor Andrée P. Boucher Memorial Scholarship.

The $4,500 scholarship will go to the females who write the best research paper on a topic related to women in politics.

Deadlines for submissions of both scholarships is on January 10.
