North Hastings Children’s Services putting call out to community to help with building of youth centre

North Hastings Children’s Services is looking for community members to join a planning committee to help with their planned youth centre.

The centre has been dubbed “YOURSPACE.”

“The community members that join will give their perspective and help motivate the community to support the project,” explains Children’s Services Executive Director Jessica Anderson. She says that could be anything from helping with fundraising or getting other service providers and volunteers involved. “Maybe they’re a good cook, so maybe they can cook lunch or teach the kids how to cook,” Anderson adds. “Or maybe they feel like they’ve never been asked before what they can contribute to help youth in the community.”

A meeting is being held on November 25th at 5 PM at Children’s Services building on Station Street. If you aren’t able to make it but want to help out you’re being asked to email [email protected].
