The connecting link is moving forward in Barry’s Bay. Reconstruction has started on the main street – Opeongo Line and Highway 60 – from Arena Road to Mintha Street. Hydro poles and streetlights are being replaced. There’ll be work on a turning lane for Sandhill Drive and the new Tim Hortons. Sidewalks will be fixed and parking will feature interlocking stone as part of the Greening Madawaska Valley initiative that has already started around town. The road will be open and businesses will operate during regular hours, although traffic delays are possible.
