A 29-year-old man from Bancroft has been charged after starting the fire on a home off of Highway 62 just before 3 AM Monday morning.
Bancroft OPP and the local fire department responded to the early morning call with an investigation leading to the man’s arrest.
He’s been charged with arson – damage to property and arson – disregard for human life.
He was held pending his bail hearing in Belleville.
