Moose FM’s Kids in Need radiothon will be on the air next week

The holidays are a stressful time for many, which is why Bancroft & Area Kids in Needs work hard every year to ensure every family has a present under the tree.

“The radiothon is our main fundraiser,” Chairperson for Kids in Need Jennifer Foster says.

The radiothon will begin at 6 AM on Friday, December 6th and end 12 hours later at 6 PM. The goal this year, as it is every year, is to make sure all families have toys or winter clothing to provide the youth in North Hastings. “It is so important for kids to have that present under the tree,” Foster says.

She adds that it’s just as important to the parents because they don’t want to feel as though they can’t provide for their kids.

Foster says it’s important to remember it’s not just the less fortunate that use Kids in Need, but those that might have lost their job recently or have had to make an unexpected payment. “Many of the people that come through our doors are going through a shorter-term struggle,” Foster explains.

“The most exciting part is when people come to us to donate because the toy drive has helped them out in the past,” Foster says. “That’s what it’s all about.”

The Kids in Need team will be working the phones all day at the radio station. You can call 613-332-1423 on the 6th to donate, or drop by the station at 30674 Highway 28 East. You can donate with cash or your debit or credit card. You can also donate online through CanadaHelps.org.

You can also drop off toys at the station, the Bancroft Fire Department, JJ’s Diner or For the Halibut.
