Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board To Be Affected By Rotating Strike

The Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board will be one of the first to be affected by a rotating strike on Wednesday.
The Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation announced the first round of strikes on Friday. Several boards will be affected by the strike on December 11th. The school board says all secondary classes will be cancelled that day and all high schools will be closed. The strike will affect students from grades 9-12. All OSSTF members will be affected by the strike, including any education workers that are a part of the union.
The School Board says that the strike does not affect the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario. The Board says all elementary schools will be open to students on Wednesday and will not be affected by the strike. The School Board says they will leave a voicemail message with parents on Sunday and release a letter on Monday. They also say parents can be updated by following the Board’s social media pages.
