Town of Bancroft teaming up with Chamber of Commerce to run 2020 Rockhound Gemboree

The Bancroft Rockhound Gemboree will be a joint effort between the Bancroft and District Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Bancroft in 2020.

“It will allow the Chamber to focus on its mandate of serving its members across fourteen municipalities and provide committed, passionate and experienced exhibitors the opportunity to be involved in planning
and executing the Gemboree event,” the Town of Bancroft says.

“The Chamber Board of Directors is pleased with the direction that the Town will be taking with the Gemboree, and look forward to a close working relationship as plans progress,” Chamber Board Chair Mike Daly. The Town calls this an exciting transition for the Chamber and the Town.

“As part of its Economic Development Strategic Plan process
over the last year, the Town has made a renewed commitment to growing the Mineral Capital of Canada brand and ensuring that the Rockhound Gemboree continues as a premier event for Bancroft and an internationally renowned gem and mineral show,” the Town adds.

Bancroft Mayor Paul Jenkins calls the event a “cornerstone event” for the Bancroft region.

The Town says the Gemboree has grown over the past 57 years and are excited about the 2020 event. “(This partnership) will also provide an unparalleled opportunity to acquire specimens, jewelry, materials, and much more,” the Town says.
