Traffic stop leads to two being hit with drug-related charges

Bancroft OPP pulled over a car on Station Steet in the morning on December 12th, and it results in two being charged for multiple drug-related offences.

An 18-year-old from Carlow-Mayo Township has been charged with three counts of possession, including one for the purpose of trafficking. He was also charged with possession of a prohibited weapon and break and enter tools.

A 32-year-old from Bancroft has been hit with the same charges, on top of one for failing to comply with probation, impaired driving and driving with a suspended license.

After the two were arrested, investigators seized a number of controlled substances believed to be crystal methamphetamine, ecstasy and fentanyl. They also took drug-related materials and weapons.

Both were released and are scheduled to appear in court in Bancroft in January.
