Bancroft Legion General Meeting

A general meeting was held by members of the Royal Canadian Legion in Bancroft Tuesday night. Among the issues discussed was the progress of the sale of their building, where a recent offer to fell through, but it looks like a couple of other offers are still being looked at. Members heard that their finances are still in the black, and plans are in place to apply for a short term loan from Legion Command for $30,000, to assist in operations until the current building is sold.

They decided that due to decreasing attendance at the Monday night bingo, the last bingo will be held on April 27th, and no more bingo’s will be held afterwards.

Also at the meeting, nominations were opened for the President, First and Second Vice-Presidents and general executive members for the upcoming year. Final nominations and elections will be held at the Legion on May 3rd at 1:00 p.m. All active Legion members are encouraged to attend and to vote. Members must bring their membership card.
