UPDATE 5:20 AM: Environment Canada is calling for the storm to settle today, after tapering off into flurries and leaving 20 to 40 cm of snow on the ground.
Environment Canada has issued a winter storm warning for the Bancroft area.
Light snow is expected to start this morning and develop into heavy snow later in the day. Heavy snow will continue through the night and into Thursday morning before tapering off into flurries for the day. It’s expected that 20 to 40 cm of snow could fall during that time, with local amounts possibly exceeding 40 cm.
Environment Canada suggests postponing non-essential travel due to rapidly accumulating snow, which could make travel difficult in some areas. Road conditions and visibility could change quickly.
