Six arrested in drug bust by Bancroft OPP

Thursday night the Bancroft OPP executed a search warrant at a residence on Woodview Lane in Bancroft.

The local police were joined by the OPP East Region’s Community Street Crime Unit, Rescue Unit, and Emergency Response Team during the bust.

The police seized a controlled substance they believe to be cocaine and methamphetamine along with cash, drug-related materials and stolen property.

32-year-old Richard Demers of Bancroft has been arrested and charged with two counts of possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a loaded prohibited firearm, two counts of careless storage of a firearm, two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a prohibited device, four counts of fail to comply with a prohibition order, two counts of possession of property obtained by crime, and seven counts of fail to comply with a release order.

31-year-old Jennifer Cox of Bancroft was hit with charges for two counts possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a loaded prohibited firearm, two counts of careless storage of a firearm, two counts unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a prohibited device, and two counts possession of property obtained by crime.

21-year-old Jesse Whiteside of Hastings Highlands has been charged with two counts of possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a loaded firearm, two counts of careless storage of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a prohibited device, and two counts possession of property obtained by crime.

25-year-old Sharayah Woodcock from Bancroft got charged with two counts of possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a loaded prohibited firearm, two counts of careless storage of a firearm, two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a prohibited device, and two counts of Possession of property obtained by crime.

23-year-old Carl Gilbank from Bancroft got charged with two counts of possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a loaded prohibited firearm, two counts of careless storage of a firearm, two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a prohibited device, and two counts of possession of property obtained by crime.

30-year-old David Vautour of Bancroft was the last person charged. He got charged with two counts of possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a loaded prohibited firearm, two counts of careless storage of a firearm, two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a prohibited device, four counts of fail to comply with a prohibition order, and two counts possession of property obtained by crime.

All six were held pending their bail hearing in Belleville.
