Bancroft OPP responded to a report of an assault on Faraday Street just after 9 PM on Sunday.
They arrived at the scene along with Hastings-Quinte Paramedic Services and located an injured 69-year-old man. He was transported to a hospital but was later pronounced dead.
The OPP’s Emergency Response Team, Canine Unit and a helicopter were brought in to search for the suspect involved in the suspicious death. They found him shortly after 4:30 AM Monday morning.
The OPP will release more information as it becomes available.
