The fire ban remains for North Hastings after having been in effect since April 18. On Friday, North Hastings Fire Chief Pat Hoover confirmed that the fire ban was issued for the weekend and that it would be reassessed yesterday. The ban remains and a notice on the fire department’s website says that’s due to dry winds and sunny skies. A reminder that the fire ban impacts the following areas: Bancroft, Hastings Highlands, Faraday, Wollaston, Tudor/Cashel, Carlow/Mayo and Limerick. To learn more, click here.
