A healthcare worker at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) has been diagnosed with COVID-19. On its website CHEO confirmed the positive test result Saturday night.
The test was done on March 25th. The staff member had last been at CHEO on March 18th and has not returned since. The person works in an outpatient clinic where patient care services wound down on March 13th.
The person is self-isolating at home and is doing well.
CHEO’s Occupational Health and Safety Team are tracing contacts who came into direct contact with the person. Everyone who did has been told to self-isolate for 14 days.
CHEO has implemented Prevention and Control measures and everyone is screened for COVID-19 symptoms and only people who show no symptoms are allowed in the building.
