A medical student with roots in the Bancroft area has been signed to a new agreement between Hastings County and the Municipality of Highlands East. The partnership means Megan Fitzgerald will spend equal time practicing family medicine in Bancroft and Wilberforce.
The Hastings County Family Physician Recruitment Program gives medical students $25,000 annually for six years during school if they agree to work in the area for at least five years after graduation. The agreement means Hastings County and Highlands East will contribute equally to the grants.
