Health unit, fire department urge you to get ready during Emergency Preparedness Week

It’s Emergency Preparedness Week and some local services are encouraging you to get prepared.

The Haliburton, Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit says this week’s a good reminder that disaster can strike year-round.  They recommend having enough supplies to sustain yourself and your family for 72 hours.

Emergency Preparedness Coordinator Carol Chan says emergencies have happened here before and that we have to be ready if they happen again.

The local fire department says it’s working with municipalities across North Hastings to make sure local residents are ready.  To learn more about how you can be prepared in a crisis situation, visit our website.
