Rockhounds announce first re-signing of the off-season

The Bancroft Rockhounds are beginning to bolster their roster for next season.

They announced they have re-signed forward Lucas Timm. He played with the team during their inaugural season and finished fifth on the team in points with 25. The 19-year-old also established himself as one of the better defensive forwards in the Metro Junior A Hockey League. He scored 10 goals and 25 points while playing in 40 games last season.

The German native is the first player to re-sign with the team after their inaugural season ended with a first-round playoff defeat at the hands of the Bradford Bulls.

Head Coach of the Rockhounds Denny Dubblestyne says he’s excited to have Timm back. “He was a good player for us last year,” he says. The Rockhounds penalty kill was 89.2-percent, which lead the league. Dubbestyle says Timm was a big part of that unit. “He’s a good character to have in the room and a really good kid,” he adds.

Dubblestyne says the COVID-19 has changed up their off-season plans, he says to expect to hear more from the team in the coming weeks.
