Over $250,000 is being invested in Hastings-Lennox and Addington thanks to the Rural Economic Development Program.
The riding’s MPP Daryl Kramp made the announcement this week that four projects in Bancroft will receive a portion of the funding and a project in Hastings Highlands will as well.
The Town of Bancroft is getting $27,213.20 to hire a coordinator to oversee the Wheels, Water and Wings motorcycle rally. The Town will be getting another $54,617.40 to develop an economic development strategic plan.
The Bancroft Flying Club will be getting $10,368 that will go towards the creation of a Strategic Economic Development Plan.
The funding going to Hastings Highlands will help the municipality build the business community capacity by forming a Business Retention and Expansion Implementation Team. The municipality is getting $33,750 to help with that project.
The Bay of Quinte Marketing Board is getting $100,000 to develop an Economic Development Strategic Plan and County of Hastings are being handed $30,000 to develop a brand strategy.
“We all know the challenge of economic recovery that awaits after this pandemic and I’m pleased to see these local projects funded to help the recovery,” said Kramp.
