Active COVID-19 cases in region remains at zero, according to Hastings-Prince Edward Public Health

It has been over two months since the last lab-confirmed case of COVID-19 was reported by Hastings-Prince Edward Public Health.

That case was reported on May 18th.

Earlier this month the last person with the last active case reported by Public Health was confirmed by the unit to have recovered. Since the pandemic began, 37 of the 43 people to have contracted the virus between Hastings and Prince Edward Counties have gone on to recover.

Five people in the region have died due to the virus.

Public Health continues to test people for the virus with over 16,000 swabs done as of Friday morning.
