Kawartha Dairy raises over $1,000 for Bancroft Terry Fox Run

During a week-long fundraiser at the Bancroft Kawartha Dairy, $1,097 was raised in support of the local Terry Fox Run.

“For three years now, the Bancroft Kawartha Dairy has supported the Bancroft Terry Fox Run,” Organizer of the local run Ron Speck tells the MyBancroftNow.com newsroom. The staff at the shop accepted donations in the middle of August this year. “They are great ambassadors for our run,” Speck says. He says they have helped raised over $4,000 since they partnered with the local run.

With this year’s run marking the 40th anniversary of the run, Speck says special t-shirts are now available. You can pick up a t-shirt for $20 at the McDougall Insurance office at 31 Hastings Street North.

You can also donate to the run by going to the Terry Fox Foundation’s website.

This year’s Terry Fox Run is using the slogan “one day, your way.” Speck explains on September 20th participants are being asked to choose a route to run and walk, bike, or run it at whatever time they choose.

All the money raised from the Kawartha Dairy fundraiser, the run, and other initiatives done locally go to the Terry Fox Foundation who use that money to fund cancer research related programs.
