Reverend Lynn Watson Cycles to Raise Money to Combat Kid’s Cancer

The Minister of the Bancroft-Carlow United Church  has cycled to help end kid’s cancer.

Reverend Lynn Watson participated in the Great Cycle Challenge this past August supporting Sick Kids Hospital to raise research money for children’s cancer. Watson says that she has raised $1672 out of an initial goal of $1000. She says she has cycled a total of 305 kilometres in total, as tallied by the Great Cycle Challenge app. Normally she says it happens in June, but was postponed until August due to COVID-19. She says several other people are riding in the Bancroft area along with her.

Watson, who has survived cancer herself, started getting in shape two weeks ago. She returned to biking, while already jogging and doing yoga. She started riding in the spring while she was recording church service for Moose FM.

She would like to thank the Bancroft Brew Pub for sponsoring her. She also says she is riding for two girls with cancer, Bridgette and Stella. Watson says it’s one thing your child is sick, but a whole other thing when you grandchild is sick.
