High school reminding parents to not drop kids off in the fire department’s parking lot

As many kids in the area return to school, North Hastings High School is reminding parents that it’s “unacceptable” to drop their children off in the parking lot in front of the Bancroft fire department.

According to a Facebook post from the school, parents have been dropping kids off in the sparkling lot used by the local fire department and the Hastings-Quinte Paramedic Services next to High School Lane. With that lot being used by emergency services, the school says parents cannot use it as an area to drop their kids off. “Unless you have direct business with the fire department or EMS, you are not to enter that parking lot,” the school adds.

The school says there have been reports of students misbehaving in the parking lot as well. They say no warnings will be given in the future to students parking or driving in front of the fire department. “You will be towed,” they say.

“It is important that this is followed, and we thank you for your cooperation with this,” they say to end off their Facebook post.
