Coe Hill ATV’s chairty ride raises thousands for Wollaston Public Library

Over the weekend, ATVers in Coe Hill got together to raise money to help keep the Wollaston Public Library’s doors open.

They raised $1,220 during their Club Poker Run that will help keep the library open on Saturdays. Library Vice-Chair Jenn Rush said that the money raised will help keep the library open on the weekend through the winter.

Just over 70 people took part in the ride on Saturday. The ATV Club says they made sure to follow all Public Health guidelines, but around lunchtime they found out about Ontario Premier Doug Ford’s new restrictions on gathering sizes. “We got the information thanks to a CBC news alert and immediately the organizers advised the participants of the requirements and made swift changes,” the Township’s Mayor Barb Shaw – who took part in the ride – said. “No grumbling at all – this Club was focused on safety and compliance.”

The Coe Hill Riders ATV Club was formed in 2018 and has helped raise money for the Coe Hill Foodbank, Wollaston Fire Department along with the Township’s library.
