MPP Daryl Kramp is urging local communities and event planners to apply for funding to a new provincial fund.
This comes as the Ontario Government is launching an application process for a $9 million initiative. The grant, through the Re-connect Festival and Grant Program, wants to safely reconnect communities through online, drive-through and other innovative experiences. Funds can be used towards events like Remembrance Day events, drive-in get-togethers, tree lightings and New Years Eve displays. Funding may be used for a multitude of expenses, such as programming, production, and promotion. It can also be used for putting together health and safety measures, as well as apps and websites.
Kramp says that they recognize the impact of festivals and events on the community and economy. He says he is pleased to support safe and innovative experiences that help people reconnect to their community.
