Hastings County Getting Money from the Social Services Relief Fund

MPP Daryl Kramp has announced that social services will get some relief from the government.

An additional $725,000 will go towards helping vulnerable people, of which $522,000 will go to Hastings County. The money will go to protect homeless shelter staff and residents, renovate shelters, and create long term housing solutions.

Kramp says that COVID has highlighted the importance of having a home, and says the funding will help people find one. He says as the pandemic evolves, the Government will provide more support so that the County can protect those that need it most.

The announcement is part of $510 million going to social services across the province. Hastings County has received $2.3 million in social services finding since the start of 2020
