OPP is warning that abuse of opioids can be deadly.
They are warning that Fentanyl and Carfentanil can be mixed in with street drugs, and can result in serious health issues and death, even in small quantities. They say that if you are with someone who is overdosing, you need to stay with them and call 911 right away. OPP says that their enforcement focuses on cracking down on dealers, traffickers and producers. They also highlight the Good Samaritan Drug Overdose Act, which protects those having or reporting an overdose from criminal charges.
The warning comes as Bancroft OPP investigated several overdoses in the last few months. At least two they say resulted in death.
