The new Commander of Center Hastings OPP says the wellness of the people who work in the community is his top priority.
Detachment Commander James Locke says while he may be new to the role, he’s been working with the Detachment for 26 years. He says that he has no specific focus on enforcement at the moment, but that the area has the same issues as any small community, and will do his best to keep the peace. He’s excited about his new role, saying he’s looking forward to engaging with the community in a proactive way.
Locke says the focus of the detachment now is on education around COVID-19 protocols. He says that he has already gotten a lot of calls about protocols, and says education makes things easier to keep people safe.
