Hastings County Showed Some Economic Growth in 2020

Hastings County said that despite all the challenges of 2020, businesses in the area still managed to have a decent year
The Economic and Tourism Development Committee has said that they helped 21 businesses open last year, adding some 3.2 million dollars into the economy. Most projects that the committee assisted were in the foodservice and retail trade sectors. They also say that most businesses in the tourism sector managed to earn a profit in 2020, though restaurants often did not. Overall they say $32 million was spent at restaurants and booked hotel listings were up 9% over 2019.
No information was given on job losses or business closures in the County.
