The new art installation in Bancroft that will highlight gender-based violence has unveiled what it is and where it will be.

The Countdown Public Art Project is partnering with Maggie’s Resource Center to create a piece of art in the area by the fall of 2021. Maggie’s Resource Center has said the installation will be somewhere in Millenium Park. But Tanya MacKinnon, Executive Director at the Center, says they don’t know exactly where in the park it will be yet, saying they still need to wait for the snow to melt to scout out the right location.

The site will consist of spiral stone art similar to other installations across the region. Instillations similar to this have been made across Renfrew County by Red Dress Productions, including in Pikwakanagan First Nation and Killaloe. A kit will be available soon to the public so they can participate in the project
