If you have ever used the key tag system from the War Amps, they are going to send you something in the mail this week.
James Jordan with War Amps says they are sending out free tags, and not just to current members. Anyone who has signed up for the service in the past will get one as well as anyone with a valid driver’s licence. The charity says that anyone whose mailing address begins with a “K” will be receiving them in the mail. Those who don’t receive them can get their tags at the War Amps Website.
The system, which has now been in place for over 75 years, allows people to return keys to their respectful owners by simply dropping them in a mailbox or giving the number on the tag a call. Jordan says in the age of cars with expensive key-fobs, users have described the service as more important now than ever.
The tags will come with an optional donation form, and the proceeds will go to help kids and vets get the prosthetic limbs they need. Jordan says 90% of the proceeds go to the cause, a fact that he says the company is proud of. The War Amps has been around for over a hundred years and continues to innovate and deliver prosthetic limbs to those in need.
