Bancroft Town Council has received a report from public works about a potential composter program.
Public works says if used properly, the program would help keep organic matter out of the landfills and provide nutrient-rich soil for residents’ gardens. Public works is currently in the process of determining pricing, but plans to sell composters at-cost to residents. Public Works predicts that one-third of household waste can be compostable, and will stay out of Town landfills.
More details on the potential program will come about in the near future.
