Hastings County has given its approval for the Fountain Hill Development to go ahead.
Bancroft Mayor Paul Jenkins says the Town will now work closely with the developer. The Town is now doing some rezoning to accommodate, but Jenkins predicts that to be done soon. He says the developer has been on board for three years and has a site plan. The Town will also encourage the developer to move forward with the project.
The development will include a hotel, a convention center, as well as different types of housing including an apartment building.
County Council also gave the approval for the development on Bancroft Ridge Drive. The subdivision is a 105 single-family detached homes, that are 1300 square foot and designed to be more affordable housing.
