The Parent-Teacher Council at Maynooth Public School is partnering with Pizza Pizza in Bancroft to do some fundraising for more playground equipment.
Laura Lunn with the council says that any money that can be raised will be a big help, saying even if they raise just a little, it will be a success. She says because the school of 90 kids has limited outdoor facilities, she hopes to raise money to buy more. However, when they put in the new set of swings, they realized just how expensive it could be. Lunn said putting in the sand alone was expensive. However, she does say it makes all the difference to the kids.
The fundraiser is going on for the entire month of April, and for every large purchase spent in-store, a portion will go to the school. For a $30 purchase, the store will donate $2 to the fundraiser, with $5 being donated with a $50 purchase. The option to donate to the fundraiser will be available every weekday except for Friday.
