Town To Allow Vendors in Millennium Park This Summer

The smell of fresh local food will be in the air this summer at Millennium Park.

Bancroft Town Council has approved food vendors to operate in the park with new guidelines in place. Council voted in favour of adopting a permit system that will allow interested vendors to sell food on weekends only. Each vendor will need to apply for 2 permits each and must have appropriate insurance, supply their own equipment, and meet health department guidelines. This also includes bringing your own water and propane for the food truck. Permit holders may not change anything about the park’s trees or plants, serve alcohol or have a place where people can sit down to eat. It will cost the vendor $100 per weekend and $150 per long weekend. If hydro is used, it will also result in a $50 surcharge.

Town council will provide an application process at a later date. Mayor Paul Jenkins says this permit system will only apply for the 2021 season.
