School Board approves over $1.2 million for North Hastings school repairs

The Hastings Prince Edward District School Board has approved hundreds of thousands of dollars in repairs for several schools in North Hastings.

The Board approved tenders to begin roofing repairs and mechanical updates. The largest sum, $674,500, was allocated to the repair of the roof at North Hastings High School. Other roofing repairs include a $173,500 repair for Hermon Public School and another $84,800 sum for Coe Hill School. Nortex, Crawford and ICI roofing companies have been contracted to complete the work. The board also approved $394,000 to do mechanical renewal work on Maynooth Public School. That work will be carried out by Beacon Construction.

The repairs are part of a larger $6.8 million dollar group of tenders to repair school roofs and complete mechanical work across Hastings Prince Edward Counties.
