Traffic stop leads to seizure of drugs, weapons

A resident from Carlow-Mayo Township has been charged with possession and weapon charges following a traffic stop in Bancroft.

Bancroft OPP responded to a traffic complaint on Hastings Street North on Sunday, April 25th around 2 PM. Police later located the vehicle and arrested the driver. They say a quantity of suspected cocaine and several weapons were seized during the investigation.

A 39-year-old has been charged with possession of cocaine, and three counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. They were also charged with failure to comply with a release order. Police say that one of the charges is domestic-related.

The accused was released from custody and will appear at the Court of Justice in Bancroft in June.
