Ladies at Centennial Manor getting donated flowers for Mother’s Day

Just in time for Mother’s Day, all ladies at the Centennial Manor will be getting some flowers.

Jewel Wiggins, president of the Ladies Auxiliary at the manor says for the second year in a row, each woman at the Manor will receive a single carnation. Wiggins is pleased to say that once again, Posies Flowers & Gifts on Bridge Street will be donating the flowers free of charge. The flowers will be delivered Friday and will be doled out this Sunday.

Wiggins says it is uplifting for the ladies at the manner to get these flowers. While COVID restrictions won’t allow the Auxiliary to give them out themselves, the PSW’s at the Manor will be giving them out. Wiggins says that they are happy to give the ladies in the manor a smile, and are thankful to Posey’s for donating the flowers again this year.

Dianne Newman, owner of Posies, says she knows how difficult it has been for both parents and children over the last year. She feels for the moms who haven’t seen their families, with kids-only able to call and not being able to see their parents. She wanted to cheer up some of the residents, and donating the flowers makes her day too.
