Bancroft To Begin Accepting Food Vendor Applications For Millennium Park

Bancroft residents can look forward to plenty of food options in Millennium Park this summer.

Town council approved food vendors to operate in the park in April, with new guidelines in place to protect people’s health and safety.

Mayor Paul Jenkins says vendors can start applying for the town’s first booking period starting Monday.

“I know we’ve had a few inquiries, but we haven’t had any firm applications because I think everybody is still unsure of exactly what and how we’re going to do everything with the stay-at-home order extended,” Jenkins said.

Vendors will only be allowed in the park on weekends, and the town is offering a weekend rental rate and a long weekend rental rate.

Regular weekends will be $100, plus a $50 surcharge if Hydro is used, while long weekends will cost $150, plus the surcharge.

Jenkins feels it’s a great opportunity for local businesses to grow.

“This will give them an opportunity to expand their operations or get some more exposure to their establishment by taking on one of the weekends,” Jenkins said.

The first booking period for weekend use is between May 21, and July 15.

The Town will put a second notice out for the second booking period for vendors to submit their application – the same process as above will apply.

The second booking period will be from July 16 to October 11.
