Prince Edward-Hastings MP Daryl Kramp is announcing funding for torch events in Belleville this summer.
The Belleville and District Chamber of Commerce has been awarded $15,000 in support for its 2015 Pam Am Games Torch Relay events planned for the summer.  This is part of the government’s two-year Toronto 2015 Pan Am and Parapan Am Games Community Celebrations Fund.
The MP says he’s proud to support programs that’ll bring people from across the country to Hastings and Prince Edward County. Belleville Mayor Taso Christopher says the city appreciates the funding and that it welcomes all visitors to the area for the events.
2015 has been declared the Year of Sport in Canada by the Governor General.
