Board approves balanced budget for Loyalist College

Loyalist College’s Board of Governors has approved a balanced budget for 2015-2016.

The budget is based on approximate revenues of $57 million.  The business plan includes cutbacks that were previously announced, such as the closure of three programs, the cancellation of Loyalist Certification Services and staff reductions through a retirement incentive program.

College President Maureen Piercy says the jobs cuts don’t reflect a lack of work by those affected.

The budget does focus on areas like international student recruitment and new programs.  These include: Entrepreneurial Studies – Business Launch, International Trade and Logistics Management as well as Workplace Arts and Science.

The budget is being forwarded to the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities.  For more information, click here.
