The Centre Hastings OPP responded to a report of a stolen pickup truck on Mill road in Madoc Township on the morning of June 6.
About an hour later, police found the truck in a ditch where McCoy Road and Cooper Road meet. An investigation revealed that the complainant for the stolen vehicle made the false report after being the driver in the collision hours earlier.
A 29-year old Madoc Township man faces charges of public mischief and failing to remain. He’s due in Belleville court July 30.
