I Am Lovable Author Raising Money for North Hastings Community Cupboard

North Hastings author Kimberly Dawn is using her book to raise money for the food bank.

The author of “I Am Lovable” is selling her book at a number of businesses across North Hastings. Normally selling for $20, the book will sell for $10, with $3 from each sale going directly to the North Hastings Community Cupboard to help build their in-house kitchen. The goal is to sell 500 books and deliver a $1,500 cash donation to the food bank.

Dawn also wants to raise awareness about the work Community Cupboard does. When she goes to different businesses, she wants to spread the word to them. So far 17 businesses have agreed to stock the book, with more on the way soon.

Above all, Dawn wishes to get out and help with the community. During her time in Fredericton, she volunteered at the local food banks and helped raise funds and gather canned goods for them. When she moved to North Hastings, Dawn felt that it was a natural fit, and when she heard about the fundraising for the in-house kitchen, she immediately wanted to help. One of her meditation teachers once taught her that when you are feeling down and struggling, always look to someone you can help. That teaching is part of why she wants to help raise money for the Cupboard.

The fundraiser will go until August 31st. For businesses looking to help out the fundraiser, they can contact the Community Cupboard at 343-476-0177, or email [email protected]. Dawn says all retailers need to do is provide shelf space and she will do the rest.
